Book It Bobcats
We end the school year with this amazing program to help children enjoy a summer of reading. The program fosters literacy while raising funds for our school. Children track their summer reading minutes and at the start of the new school year we celebrate their success and give out some pretty cool prizes! Find more details about Book It Bobcats.
Greet & Give Parties
To kick off the school year PTA, in conjunction with Bill Roberts Parents, hosts Greet & Give Parties as a chance to get to know the school community, share our goals, successes and raise funds. If you did not get a chance to attend a party, you can always contribute online at any time throughout the year!
Fun Run
In the fall, Bill Roberts hosts a 5K and Family Fun Run at school. Students have the opportunity to get their artwork on the coveted Fun Run t-shirt. These shirts are allowed to be worn on Fridays. Come out and join Bill Roberts for the best family building fundraiser of the year! There is music, prizes and sponsors providing fun gifts! Find more details about the Fun Run.
Dances
The Bill Roberts PTA hosts a winter dance every December in the school gym. There’s aDJ, photo booth, food trucks, desserts and plenty of dancing! These dances are great opportunities for parents and kids to spend time together, while helping to build a stronger school community.
Annual Auction
Every Spring, the PTA hosts its annual fundraising auction and party. This event is the single largest fundraising event of the year with the goal of raising $75,000 for our school. Not only is the auction an important fundraiser, it is also a really fun night out for parents of kids at Bill Roberts. Find more information about the Auction.
Field Day
Field Day is an annual event organized by the PE Department. As part of this fun outside day, kids get a chance to compete in a variety of events including jump rope contests, running races and tug-o-war. More information will be available in the spring!
Spring Carnival
Our FUNdraising Spring Carnival is a family-friendly event that is a much-anticipated night out for everyone! The gym and playground are converted into a carnival with games of chance, games of skill, a dunk tank, cakewalk and much more. Kids have the opportunity to spend time with their classmates and win prizes, all while raising a little money for our school.
Musicals
Traditionally, the Drama and Music departments organize a holiday program, a talent show in the spring, and other grade-specific programs. The Drama department participates in the Denver Public Schools Shakespeare Festival with more than 100 students attending each year.
Book Fairs
Bill Roberts hosts two popular Scholastic Book Fairs each year in the winter and spring that the kids love! These fundraisers traditionally raise enough funds to purchase 200-250 new books and promote reading.
Until I was involved I didn’t realize how much happens because of volunteer parents. Come join us!

There are many ways to volunteer at Bill Roberts. No amount of time is too small. Keep in mind that many of these roles have a process in place and other parents to help you, so you don’t have to start from scratch, we promise! If you are interested in volunteering to support a committee or are looking for committee descriptions please email.

DPS now requires all volunteers, whether helping in the library or in a classroom, attending a field trip, or volunteering for PTA, to apply for a background check using their new online process.
This new process offers:
Fast access to apply on any device with wifi or internet access
No paper forms needed and takes less than 5 minutes to complete
Apply once to volunteer at all DPS schools
Emails and approval sent to you directly with shorter turn-around time
I want to volunteer at the school during the day. What are my options?
There are many options for volunteering at the school. Some suggestions would be to volunteer to be a room parent by contacting our parent volunteer chairperson at billrobertsroomparents@gmail.com. You can also sign up to volunteer in the library, Food Bank committee, Welcoming committee, Garden Committee or 100 Mile Club.
My schedule does not allow me to volunteer during the day but I would still love to help. Are there things I can do from home?
You can sign up to help with any of the events we plan also have opportunities to help from home, including the Auction, Carnival, Greet and Give, Family Dance and Fun Run.

The Bill Roberts Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is our school’s local chapter of the Colorado PTA, a non-profit volunteer organization that strives to facilitate opportunities for parents to be engaged in their children’s school. The PTA is run by parent volunteers who donate their time to ensure that Bill Roberts students receive an excellent education. Our PTA supports our school’s community culture by organizing several fundraisers throughout the year such as Book It Bobcats, Fun Run, 100 Mile Run Club, Dances, Auction, Staff Appreciation, Carnival and so much more! Like other top-ranked schools, PTA is committed to raise $160,000 per school year to supplement any deficits in public funding, making our school the best it can be.
MEETINGS AND MINUTES: Attend the monthly PTA meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, alternating between 8:30AM and 6:30PM (see below for the 2021-2022 meeting schedule). Childcare is provided for evening meetings. You can review the meeting minutes after each meeting, click the links below.
